Every night I say a prayer in the hope that theres a heaven And every day Im more confused as the saints turn into sinners All the heroes and legends I knew as a child have fallen to idols of clay And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that Ive lost my faith
Show me the way, show me the way Take me tonight to the river And wash my illusions away Show me the way
And as I slowly drift to sleep, for a moment dreams are sacred I close my eyes and know theres peace in a world so filled with hatred That I wake up each morning and turn on the news to find weve so far to go And I keep on hoping for a sign, so afraid that I just wont know
Show me the way, show me the way Take me tonight to the mountain And take my confusion away
And if I see a light, should I believe Tell me how will I know
Show me the way, show me the way Take me tonight to the river And wash my illusions away Show me the way, show me the way Give me the strength and the courage To believe that Ill get there someday Show me the way
Every night I say a prayer In the hope that theres a heaven...
Song (c) styx
image/Insy and Claude(c) Betsy Zeeryp
Claude is a confused soul in the story, and when I was listening to styx and thought this song fit the story perfectly^^
Yeah I know, Insy looks crosseyed she's looking at Claude
well first of all, their proportions are off, its probably just the style, but even for a cartoon they dont look exactly right you know? Its like they are too elongated and thin. Secondly I know she is supposed to be looking at him, but only because you said so, otherwise i wouldnt be sure that she wasnt just making a face. even when you are looking at something right in front of you your eyes dont cross like that. thirdly there is no space in the foreground you need to foreshorten the arms and make him much larger so that the viewer can see where they are in relation to each other. and lastly if you are trying to get this published you need to find another way to color it. No matter how good you get at using markers there is an overlap of them and it doesnt look professional. Markers are a good place to start but for a finished product paint or photoshop are a much better look for a book. other than that im glad that to finally see some of the illustrations you have been working on and the background is really nice.
I'm not planning to publish this, and all of it I agree on, it was fine as a sketch, but once I colored it....grrrrrr. anyway I was planning to redo it once I get more bristol board. Thanks for the critique

but trust me these are also all things you can easily work on. if you ever get the chance take a life drawing class! I have always known that drawing people is my weak point, and they say that drawing the human figure is the hardest thing to do in art, but already after just a few classes i have improved a lot!

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.

I'll have to save my money up. I unfortunatly don't get to draw on the computer often because my mom works from home.
