I messed up on the wings, and personally I think I may redo this, because the phoenix looks too traditional. You know the average looking phoenix. That's my personal opinion.
Done with copic, white colored pencil and Prismacolor marker.

I've been looking at your progression as far as the copics and the Michigan Legend projects go.
I see a lot of improvement. In this piece for example, you're getting more detail - more use of shadow and lighting, layering the color and a broader range in tonal patterns. Keep up the awesome work!! I love it that you use colored pencils to layer extra detail over your copic layers! That is AWESOME! So glad someone else does that too!
My only suggestion for further improvement:
When you color with your copics, color in the same direction so you can't see the fluctuation of color intensity in certain areas - I sometimes have to go over it a second time cuz I'll accidentally color vertical and then switch to coloring horizontally and it's sooo obvious to me that I'm like, "Aww crap!" >< lolz
Also, make sure you color right up to the lines/object. I see a little bit of 'white' area around parts of the phoenix. And some areas it looks like you only colored over it once - it's not as heavy in tone as other areas are.
Hope this all makes sense.
